Regional holidays: why Bayern and Berlin plan differently
Corpus Christi, All Saints' Day and other holidays apply only in some German states, Spanish regions and UK nations. How Ledigt handles them and what it changes.

Where regional holidays come from
Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom set many holidays by state, region or nation. Nager.Date reports these with a list of ISO 3166-2 subdivision codes, such as DE-BY for Bayern. A holiday with no list applies everywhere. When a holiday is listed for every region of a country, Ledigt treats it as nationwide. The United Kingdom lists New Year's Day this way, for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Germany 2027
Corpus Christi is Thursday 27 May 2027. It is a public holiday in Baden-Württemberg, Bayern, Hessen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Saarland. In those states, one leave day on Friday 28 May gives you four days, 27 to 30 May. In Berlin it is an ordinary workday.
All Saints' Day is Monday 1 November 2027 in Baden-Württemberg, Bayern, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Saarland, which makes 30 October to 1 November a free three-day weekend there. Repentance and Prayer Day, Wednesday 17 November 2027, is a public holiday in Sachsen only.
The Bayern calendar is set by the Bavarian public holidays act. Some municipalities in other states observe Corpus Christi locally. Nager.Date records states, not municipalities, so Ledigt does too.
Spain and the United Kingdom
Spain mixes a short list of nationwide holidays with many regional ones, so the region selector matters more there than in any other country in the data set. In the United Kingdom, Scotland does not observe Easter Monday and Northern Ireland adds Saint Patrick's Day and the Battle of the Boyne. GOV.UK publishes the official list per nation.
How to use the region filter
Open the Germany, Spain or United Kingdom page and choose your region. Every result, the calendar and the .ics export then use the national holidays plus those of your region. Leave it on "Nationwide holidays only" if you want the dates that apply to everyone.
